Abstract. The article is devoted to the examination of lexical neologisms in the communicative-pragmatic paradigm, the development of which takes place in cognitive and discursive directions. The study of the communicative-intentional meaning of lexical units becomes a subject of a language study in the communicative-pragmatic aspect, as only then the pragmatic significance of linguistic neologisms in certain contextual conditions is created. The analysis of the pragmatics of a neologism implies revealing the typology of the pragmatic components, by which the choice and adequate use of lexical innovations in discourse are determined.
