Abstract. The article raises an important problem of the assimilation of myth-folkloric images and motives both of national and world heritage by modern national literatures (by the example of Adyghean literature). It concerns mostly the motive of sacrifice and its similar versions. The key motives of novels-myths, a new trend in modern Adyghean literature, are sacrifice, pre-Apocalypse and Apocalypse, very popular within the world folklore and literature. Such tendency should be considered as a response to the objective challenges of the XX and XXI centuries.
Key words and phrases: миф, фольклор, роман-миф, повесть-притча, жертвоприношение, мотив, образ, сюжет, myth, folklore, novel-myth, story-parable, sacrifice, motive, image, plot
