METAPHORICAL NOMINATIONS IN THE LINGUISTIC WORLDVIEW OF KURT VONNEGUT IN THE NOVEL "BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS"

Abstract. The article deals with the notion "linguistic worldview", and also how it is expressed in the fiction text. The term "linguistic worldview" is examined from the point of view of the interconnection of language and culture, where language expresses a certain way of the conceptualization of the reality of some language collective. The author emphasizes her attention on one of the tropes used to create the linguistic worldview - a metaphor. The paper gives examples of metaphorical nominations from the work by Kurt Vonnegut "Breakfast of Champions". The interpretation of the used metaphors is presented.
