BASIC CYCLIZATION PRINCIPLES OF THE ENGLISH NOVEL OF THE SECOND HALF OF THE XX CENTURY

Abstract. The article examines the basic cyclization principles of the English novel of the period after the Second World War. The author identifies the following ones: integrity of problematics, motive structure, identity of story conflicts, framing, epigraph, intertextuality. Each cycle-formative device is illustrated by the concrete examples from the novelistic cycles of such acknowledged small genre experts as J. Fowles, A. S. Byatt, J. Barnes, et al.
