TAIGA DWELLER AS A SPECIAL TYPE OF HERO IN L. N. ZAVADOVSKY’S CREATIVE WORK OF THE 1920-1930S

Abstract. The article is devoted to the creative work of the undeservedly forgotten writer L. N. Zavadovsky. The paper argues for the original type of hero in the writer’s prose of the 1920-1930s - taiga dweller who has no direct analogues in the Russian literature. The researcher analyzes in detail the specifics of the taiga dweller’s image within the concrete spatio-temporal continuum, socio-historical and ideological realia. The author examines value priorities and basic qualities of the heroes whose life is inseparable from the taiga land. The special attention is paid to the gold digging theme which often is the basic one in the heroes’ world perception.
