LUTHERAN SCHOOL DRAMATURGY AND PLAYS BY J. G. GREGORY

Abstract. The article examines the plays by Johann Gottfried Gregory, pastor at Lutheran church of the German Quarter in Moscow, written for the Russian court theatre of the tsar Aleksey Mikhailovich in the context of the Lutheran school dramaturgy traditions. The repertoire of the first Russian court theatre was in many ways established under the influence of Protestant views by Johann Gottfried Gregory who relied on the current system of German school theatre adopted by Martin Luther. By the example of the certain images and similar plots the paper traces the influence of Lutheran school dramaturgy on the repertoire of the first Russian theatre.
