LOGICAL AND SEMANTIC COHESION OF A POPULAR-SCIENCE TEXT AS A SUBJECT OF STUDY FOR THE STUDENTS OF MAGISTRACY IN CLASSES OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract. The article describes a practical author’s experience at forming skills of the analysis of a text with the aim of extracting full content information by means of establishing the techniques of logical and semantic coherence of the material under study. The examples of the fragments of a popular-science text which were analyzed by the students from the viewpoint of logical and semantic coherence between separate statements are given. The conclusion is made about the legitimacy of such activity.
