Abstract. The article discusses the principles to identify the communicative category, in particular, the category of officiality. Communicative category of officiality is examined as a discursive category actualized in the communicative situations with the certain number of relevant features. The paper uses the conception of constructive and style vector as a mechanism for actualization of communicative category in the specific text. The conceptions of communicative category and functional style are under comparison.
