THE IMAGE OF VILGA IN "MINOR TEPID COMEDY ABOUT JOSEPH" BY J. G. GREGORY IN THE CONTEXT OF THE PROTESTANT IDEOLOGY

Abstract. The article deals with the image of Vilga in "Minor Tepid Comedy about Joseph" by J. G. Gregory in the context of reflection of the new concepts of love and the place of a woman that emerged in the Old Russian imagery in the late of the XVII century. New ideas were associated with Protestant views of the author of the play J. G. Gregory, which is reflected in the humanistic depiction of female characters.
