LITERARY CRITICISM OF THE 30S OF THE XIX CENTURY ON THE SPIRITUAL-ESTHETIC CONTENT OF PILGRIM PROSE

Abstract. The article examines one of the stages of the history of the formation of the genre of pilgrimage - the 30s of the XIX century; during that period pilgrimage, typologically connected with the Old Russian ‘walking’, started to be perceived not within the system of the genres of the Old Russian literature, but as a phenomenon connected with the religious-philosophical, spiritual-moral problems of contemporaneity. The literary criticism of the 30s of the XIX century, having seen the topicality of the revived genre, conceived its genre and style parameters and inscribed pilgrimage into the genre and style system of spiritual literature.
