Abstract. The current article considers how the story by Yu. Annenkov "A Small House in the 5 th Christmas St." (published by him in 1928 under the pseudonym Boris Temiryazev) correlates with a memoir work of the artist "The Diary of My Meetings" at the textual level. Special attention is paid to the analysis of recurrent fragments with insignificant stylistic discrepancies. The paper also highlights how important the introduction of an autobiographic component in his story was for the writer himself.
