LINGUO-CULTURAL PECULIARITIES OF EVALUATIVE PREDICATES OF THE CONCEPT "SUCCESS" IN THE RUSSIAN AND AMERICAN ENGLISH

Abstract. The article examines verbalized evaluations of the concept "success" in the Russian and American English. Describing in detail the concept "success" and its relations with the historically adopted meaning of the mentioned concept the author emphasizes the importance of evaluative component as a complicated cognitive process of secondary categorization and conceptualization. Analyzing the examples from the modern publicistic and media-discourse the author discovers the linguo-cultural specifics of evaluative predicates in the languages under study.
