TYPOLOGICAL AND NATIONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF TATAR LANGUAGE PRESS

Abstract. The article presents the results of the analysis of the current state of print publications in the Tatar language in Tatarstan. According to typological features newspapers and magazines of educational type prevail among the publications in the Tatar language. The segment of publications for children and adolescents is well developed. In the Republic of Tatarstan the segment of print publications in the Tatar language is consciously preserved. The majority of print media in the Tatar language are branches of JSC "Tatmedia" and do not have economic independence.
