Abstract. The article is devoted to analyzing Kalmyk comparative constructions as an efficient means to describe human experience of adopting the reality and representing the acquired knowledge in the language. Relying on the research findings the author develops the basic structural models used when analyzing comparative constructions and proposes lexico-semantic differentiation of the comparisons. Stable comparisons of the Kalmyk language represent the basic cognitive categories structuring the national worldview.
