LOCAL AUTHORITIES AS AN OBJECT OF JOURNALISTIC PROPAGANDA (BY THE EXAMPLE OF THE KOMI REPUBLIC)

Abstract. The article examines the methods to propagate local authorities (in the person of the Head of the Republic and the Chairman of the State Council) in the Komi Republic in the period preceding the elections to the State Council and detention of Republican government. The author concludes that the image of power evolved due to the political situation development and in the crucial period of pre-election campaign the images of the Head of the Republic and Chairman of the State Council were based on such stereotypes as "the fighter", "strong hand" and "good old boy".
