Abstract. The article considers the issues of teaching Russian as a foreign language against the background of modern linguo-didactic situation. The ways of competence-based approach implementation in teaching Russian to foreigners are revealed. The examples of interactive methods that can be used in the Russian language classes for foreign medical students are given.
