THE NEOLOGIZMS "NORMCORE" AND "NORMSTER" IN THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE AS SPECIFICITY REPRESENTATION OF THE PHENOMENON OF NORM

Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of gradability, polysemanticity and poly-evaluativity of the linguistic norm. It is shown that the neologisms "normcore" and "normster" that appeared in the Russian language in 2014 actualize the strongly held views on the phenomenon of the norm, previously identified by one of the authors of this work. On the one hand, the norm is comprehended by native speakers as a reference point for the measurement, and on the other - as measurable reality, subjected to gradability. By the example of these neologisms the article also reveals the inner dialectics of the category "norm", which also includes positive, neutral, and negative evaluative components.
