THE PHENOMENON OF LEXICAL MONOSEMY IN THE GERMAN LANGUAGE: THE VIEW IN THE LIGHT OF BORROWING

Abstract. The article is devoted to the description of the phenomenon of lexical monosemy in the German language, which arises as a result of borrowing. By the example of words borrowed from the Russian language, it is shown that the language-recipient borrows from the language-donor only one meaning of a polysemantic word. The article suggests that the factors affecting the preservation of borrowed words monosemy are their attribution to the realia of other cultures.
