STRUCTURAL PECULIARITIES OF THE AUTHOR’S TOPONYMS IN THE CYCLE OF THE EPIC FANTASY NOVELS BY G. R. R. MARTIN "A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE"

Abstract. The article investigates the structural peculiarities of the author's toponyms as a means of modeling the secondary world in the fantasy saga by G. R. R. Martin "A Song of Ice and Fire" in the original language. The author examines the basic principles of the structural analysis of toponyms, their morphological structure, word-formation models and the ways of formation, carries out quantitative and comparative analyses of the structural types of toponyms in the saga under study and identifies the most productive methods and models of formation.
