N. A. DOBROLYUBOV’S ARTICLES AND L. N. TOLSTOY’S DRAMAS: IN THE LIGHT OF IMAGES OF THE BOOK OF JOB

Abstract. The article considers the motives of the Book of Job in that part of N. A. Dobrolyubov’s critical heritage, which faces to the analysis of the plays of A. N. Ostrovsky, as well as in the plays of L. N. Tolstoy. In this connection the clarifications of genre originality of Tolstoy’s philosophical dramas are proposed, and the innovation of Dobrolyubov, who indirectly indicated the biblical context of the Russian drama, despite the attitudes of "real criticism", is substantiated.
