Abstract. The article examines the genitive case classification developed by German Germanist P. Eisenberg by the material of periodical press. The author identifies that earlier classifications differ cardinally from the classification under research. The analysis indicates that in the periodical press discourse all the genitive meanings are a variation of a single meaning - the meaning of attributiveness.
