EVANGELICAL MYTH IN THE STRUCTURE OF "THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA" BY C. S. LEWIS: WITH LOVE ON THE BOOK OF LOVE

Abstract. The article is devoted to studying the evangelical myth in the structure of the fantasy cycle by C. S. Lewis "The Chronicles of Narnia" and its influence on the formation of the deeper meaning of this cycle. Comparing and analyzing evangelical stories and texts contained in "The Chronicles of Narnia" the author identifies a lot of appropriate correlations manifesting themselves, in particular, at the story level. As the key figure of the evangelical myth is the personality of Jesus Christ, so as the central image of Narnia cycle is the image of Lion Aslan, whose deeper kinship with the Saviour image manifests through typical features, which are endowed to Narnia creator and which refer to the same evangelical source.
