STATEMENT INCOMPLETENESS AS THE SENSE FORMATION MEANS OF LITERARY TEXT

Abstract. The article deals with statement incompleteness (aposiopesis, break-in-the-narrative) as the means of indirect nomination and its sense formative functions at different stages of the literary text perception. The author substantiates the use of the term "statement incompleteness" in the literary studies research and reveals its meaning in terms of stylistic, rhetoric and cognitive linguistics. Being the means of text metaphorization, statement incompleteness arouses the reflection of the recipient, provoking the productive steps to form the new sense.
