Abstract. The article discusses the problems of proactive attitude formation among the first-year students in the oral practice classes at the higher school in the process of project activity. The work on the mini-projects is not only efficient and promotes the realization of person-oriented approach but also presupposes acquisition and further development of the linguistic, linguoculturological, communicative and general educational competence up to the high level.
