METAPHOR IN SCIENTIFIC-TECHNICAL TEXT

Abstract. The article considers the possibility of using metaphors in a scientific text. The reconceptualization of the metaphor implies a cognitive approach to the study, which helps show the dynamic nature of metaphors. Scientists in the sphere of philosophy and linguistics conduct the interrelation between metaphor and thinking. Lexical paradigm of nominations highlights the noun among metaphors. Nouns form the terminological system of a scientific text. A live metaphor appears in the process of thinking. A dead metaphor comes alive in language use.
