THE AESTHETIC CATEGORY "DAS H?SSLICHE" IN THE VISIONS OF C. G. JUNG AND EXPRESSIONISTIC IMAGES

Abstract. In the article one of the spiritual experiences of C. G. Jung is compared with the similar poetic images discovered in the creativity of the poet of expressionist school G. Trakl. The author concludes that their superficial anticlericalism conceals the God-seeking orientation. The comparative analysis is based on the aesthetic category " das H?ssliche" (ugly) which was developed in German literature by the German dark romanticism and acquires new features in the expressionistic poetics.
