FEATURES OF HISTORICAL LEGEND GENRE BY THE EXAMPLE OF ORAL TALES ABOUT BURYATS’ TRIP TO PETER I

Abstract. The article reveals the characteristic features of one of the varieties of Buryats’ non-fairy tale prose - historical legends, and analyzes the genre-forming characteristics of oral folk tales about the real historical facts. The idea is substantiated that, despite the presence of elements of exaggeration, embellishment, mainly the attitude to credibility dominates.
