THE REMINISCENCES OF THE NEW TESTAMENT IN I. A. BUNIN’S POETRY OF THE 1910S

Abstract. The article is devoted to the study of the New Testament in I. A. Bunin’s poetry of the 1910s. The research of the Russian writers’ creative work in the context of Christian culture has notably become more active in the Russian literary criticism of recent years. The main reminiscences of the New Testament in I. A. Bunin’s poetical heritage of the given period are singled out and analyzed in the work, their functional meaning is defined, and the reasons for the poet’s appeal to the Holy Writ are given.
