Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of teaching different types of reading to the students of non-language institutes of higher education at the lessons of foreign language. Connecting the choice of this or that type of reading with the concrete aim, the author suggests using two texts at special lessons, and then for individual work and the cycles of the work with them, which allows developing skills simultaneously in various types of reading.
