SEMANTIC MOTIVATION IN WORD FORMATION

Abstract. The article examines the problem of semantic motivation, in particular, the reverse semantic motivation in the verbal prefixal word formation. Under reverse motivation the discrepancy of structural and semantic motivation occurs and motivating verb acquires new meaning under the influence of motivated verb.
