Abstract. The article is devoted to the text-formative potential of proverbs. This kind of proverbs is studied from the perspective of textual linguistics ? as the folded form of the text expressing its content in the compressed form. The author chooses the texts of the media discourse, the semantic dominant of which is embodied in the title, being a proverb, as the material for the analysis; four models of the content deployment of the mentioned texts are identified and the most productive one is determined.
