Abstract. The article considers the "Berlin text" by the Austrian writer, Nobel Prize laureate Elias Canetti (1905-1994) and the Russian and American writer Vladimir Nabokov (1899-1997). Berlin of the first half of the XX century as a social and cultural phenomenon embodying the features of the "new reality" fits in the artistic and aesthetic values ??of both authors and opens up additional possibilities for the interpretation of their creative work. The capital of Germany is presented as a space where reality becomes extremely subjective opening a new perspective for the perception of autobiographical texts of Canetti and Nabokov.
