PROVERBS AND PROVERBIAL TEXTS IN MAHMUD AL-KASHGARI’S "DIVANU-L-LUGAT AL-TURK"

Abstract. The problem of proverbs is hardly the most important among the urgent problems of studying the classical cultural heritage of the East. Bilingual (Turkish-Arabic) Dictionary "Divanu-l-lugat al-Turk" of outstanding scientist-encyclopedist of the XI century Mahmud al-Kashgari is of a special interest in this sense. This article considers some proverbs in a single proverbial text.
