Abstract. The article deals with the creativity of the Kabardian poet Anatolii Mukozhev who mostly defined the picture of the development of Kabardian poetry of the 70-80s years of the XX century. Main attention is drawn to the spiritual, moral and aesthetic aspects of his poetry. In the work the author studies for the first time the philosophical lyrics of the poet by the example of understanding of one of the eternal themes of poetry - the confrontation of life and death including other types of dichotomies of human existence - "light-dark", "good-evil" and others.
