Abstract. The article is concerned with the issue of defining some peculiarities of German oral speech. In the article the definition of "oral speech" is given, its main characteristics are examined and the peculiarities of German oral speech are displayed on the lexical and stylistic level. The research has confirmed that above all such stylistic devices as enantiosemy, oxymoron, irony, metaphor are characteristics for German oral speech.
