Abstract. The article represents the activity of the Ukrainian folklorists-musicologists F. E. Kozitsky, M. Ya. Beregovsky, evacuated during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and involved in the theoretical study of the Bashkir folklore. The author of the article briefly states that there are facts of their stay in the Kharkiv region at the end of 1944 in the memoirs of contemporary informants. It is noted that the Ukrainian-Bashkir relations in folklore studies continue today, in particularly the methods of the Ukrainian scientist R. M. Volkov are used in the study of the Bashkir fairy tales.
