THE STATUS OF LEXICOLOGY IN LINGUISTIC CONCEPTIONS OF V. A. BOGORODITSKY AND L. V. SCHERBA

Abstract. In the article the views of V. A. Bogoroditsky and L. V. Scherba on the position of lexicology in linguistics are analyzed. An ambiguity of the attitude to this linguistic section in the foreign and Russian science is demonstrated. It is revealed that serious efforts of lexicology study refer to the XX century. A comparison between the ideas of V. A. Bogoroditsky and L. V. Scherba about lexicology as a science is made. It is ascertained that the opinions of both scientists on lexicology have got a dialectical character.
