HISTORIOGRAPHY OF METHODS FOR TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGES AND THEIR SIGNIFICANCE FOR MODERN LANGUAGE EDUCATION IN TECHNICAL HIGHER EDUCATION ESTABLISHMENT

Abstract. The article provides a historical overview of the methods for teaching foreign languages in Russia beginning with the X century, and reveals their basic regulations. The author analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of a particular method from the standpoint of modern requirements for teaching foreign languages in technical higher education establishments. The paper theoretically substantiates the possibility of applying the described methods in the educational process.
