RELIGIOUS AND SYMBOLIC SEMANTICS OF THE IMAGES OF BIRDS IN THE POETRY BY H. HESSE AND I. BUNIN

Abstract. The article examines the images of birds, makes an analysis of their symbolic meaning and comparison by the material of the religious and mystical poems by H. Hesse and I. Bunin before the First World War. The creative work of both poets is marked by religious syncretism associated with their searching a path to God. This syncretism manifests itself clearly in the images of birds which represent the souls, messengers of heaven and representatives of nature praising the Creator.
