Abstract. The article presents an analysis of one of the parts of the poem "The Cantos" (XXI-XXX) by an American poet E. Pound (1885-1972). Besides, for the first time in the domestic literary criticism the paper focuses on certain aspects of lyrical composition of a cycle: the researcher argues for the idea of its special role in the interpretation of all the key images and motives of these cantos.
