PHONETICS OF THE HEROIC EPICS OF THE RUSSIAN NORTH (BY THE MATERIALS OF THE COLLECTIONS OF THE PUSHKIN HOUSE)

Abstract. In 2014 they created an Internet-resource representing recordings of the heroic epics of the Russian North from the Audio Archive of the Institute of Russian Literature. The site, aimed to make easier the access to the unique recordings for the researchers of folklore and dialects, presents not only the folkloric but also phonetic description of the material, provides illustrative sound bites suitable for transcribing and phonetic description. The paper describes identified phonetic peculiarities and introduces theoretical understanding of the dynamics of changing phonetics of the dialects according to the mentioned materials.
