SELF-RECORD OF THE OLONKHO BY K. G. OROSIN "NYURGUN BOOTUR THE IMPETUOUS": ARCHIVAL ORIGINAL SOURCE AND SCIENTIFIC EDITION

Abstract. The article for the first time tries to present textual description of the "multilayer" manuscript of the olonkho by K. G. Orosin "Nyurgun Bootur the Impetuous" and characterize the modifications made while preparing for publication in the series "Samples of the Yakut national literature" edited by E. K. Pekarsky. The author identifies the basic types of corrections made by the collector himself and by the editor, such as: replacement of dialectal words by literary version, translation of graphical signs of the Khitrov’s alphabet into the B?htlingk’s alphabet, corrections of grammar mistakes by the addition of missing letters, syllables, words and removing repetitions. Relying on the studies of the archival original source the researcher touches on the problem of scientific editing of an epic text in the XIX century.
