SPECIFICS OF METHOD, GENRE AND HISTORICISM OF THE "CAMPAIGN NOTES OF A RUSSIAN OFFICER" BY I. I. LAZHECHNIKOV

Abstract. The article examines genre structure of the "Campaign Notes of a Russian Officer" by I. I. Lazhechnikov, argues for the originality of historicism which is manifested in the understanding of history as a developing process and as a "poetry of history". Analysis of writer’s historical views of this period allows concluding on their romantic nature. Lazhechnikov’s historicism also presupposes the understanding of interrelation between the modernity and the past. According to the researches, "Campaign Notes of a Russian Officer" is a retrospectively processed diary where the individual experience becomes the experience of history. The paper emphasizes the fact that historicism of the "Campaign Notes" served as a basis for Lazhechnikov’s historicism of the 30s.
