Abstract. The article considers Bakhtin’s "carnivalization" from the standpoint of the canons of post-modernism. The author’s content of the term "postmodernism" is defined more exactly by the extensive theoretical material. The components of carnival action and carnival spirit are considered in detail. The author concludes that carnival and carnivalization are of post-modern nature.
