FUNCTIONING OF NONVERBAL MEANS IN LITERARY TEXT (BY THE EXAMPLE OF J. S. FOER’S NOVEL "EXTREMELY LOUD AND INCREDIBLY CLOSE")

Abstract. The article is devoted to the description of the peculiarities of creolized texts, in which a significant part of graphical elements is iconic, i.e. it is illustrations, graphs, charts and so on. The classification of creolized texts is considered, the functions of iconic means are described. On the basis of J. S. Foer’s novel "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" the authors carry out the analysis of the functioning of nonverbal components, namely graphical means related directly to the text.
