Abstract. The article is devoted to one of the most relevant issues of the work with foreign students - their integration into an unfamiliar socio-cultural space. To overcome by the foreigners the tension associated with staying in the new realia of life, the author proposes to use both extracurricular and curricular time. In this regard, the experience of the work with students at the earliest stages of teaching in a Russian higher education establishment is described.
