Abstract. The article is devoted to one of the unrealized literary intentions by F. M. Dostoevsky "The Dreamer". The article reveals the content of notions "incompleteness", "creative potential". Special attention is paid to the reconstruction of unfinished novel by F. M. Dostoevsky "The Dreamer"; possible reasons of the unfinished state of the text are noted; relying on the intention lacunas, possible ways of its development are outlined.
