STRUCTURAL FEATURES OF ABBREVIATED WORDS IN THE MODERN GERMAN LANGUAGE

Abstract. The article considers the structural features of morphemic representation of abbreviated words in the modern German language in order to identify the marginal continuity of reduced forms, word-formative means and basic word-formative models, through which and for which these short, but semantically very receptive lexical units are created. The authors reveal the productive and unproductive models of constructing the lexemes of this type.
