Abstract. The article examines the emotional function of a foreign language teacher from the viewpoint of emotional and concept approach and its place in his professiogramme. The paper presents its components: emotional understanding, emotional verbal influence, emotional management, emotional forecasting, etc. Emotive competence is considered as a component of professional competence of a foreign language teacher.
