Abstract. The article considers the problem of modeling the reality by means of semantic meta-languages. The essence of the notion "meta-language" is revealed and its connection with natural language is shown. The analysis of the theories that exist in this sphere of researches is conducted. The significant characteristics of different types of semantic meta-languages are revealed, their examples are given, and on this basis their classification is presented. A formalized semantic meta-language is developed, and the possibilities of its application for the description of the concepts of emotional states are revealed. An example of the script, which is created on a meta-language, is given.
